  • Directly from subscribers — primarily your email address, submitted when you subscribe to the newsletter or log in to access subscriber content.

  • Through cookies and tracking technologies — to analyze site usage and improve the Site (see Section 5).

  • From third-party services we rely on to operate the Site:

    • Squarespace — website hosting and page delivery

    • Beehiiv — newsletter delivery, subscription management, and the system of record for whether your subscription is free or paid

    • Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions (via Beehiiv's integration; we do not directly handle or store your card details)

    • Google Analytics (or equivalent) — site usage analytics

We use this information to verify your subscription tier, grant or restrict access to subscriber content, deliver newsletter content, and provide support. We do not send marketing emails outside the newsletter itself. You can request account deletion or a data export by contacting us at hello@stopped-out.com.

3. Disclosure of Personal Information

We share personal information only with the service providers listed in Section 2, to the extent necessary for them to perform their function. We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers. We may disclose data to comply with legal obligations or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

4. Security and Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, but no system is entirely secure. Personal data is retained only as long as necessary to provide the service or to comply with legal requirements. Login sessions issued through the Site expire automatically after a limited period.

5. Cookies

Our site uses cookies to enhance functionality and improve user experience. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect certain features. We may use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site usage. 9. Payment Information

All payments for paid subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe, via Beehiiv's payment integration. We do not directly store or manage your payment card information. Refer to Stripe's and Beehiiv's respective privacy policies for further detail.

10. Communications Preferences

The only emails you'll receive from us are your subscribed newsletter issues and, where applicable, service notifications related to your subscription. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email, managed directly through Beehiiv.

11. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected subscribers promptly, as required by law, and take steps to mitigate risk. Contact us immediately at hello@stopped-out.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a notice on the Site or, where appropriate, by email to subscribers, at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Effective date" above reflects the most recent revision.
